Children in 6th class have completed their fundraising campaign and proudly presented a cheque to the Make-A-Wish Foundation today. They raised an impressive total of €1, 685. They deserve a huge amount of credit for all the hard work and dedication they put into their products. Each class decided on a product that could could design, create, decorate and sell to the children, teachers and relatives.
We invited Elaine Buckley, a Make-A-Wish coordinator and a past pupil of Scoil Oilibhéir, into our school to speak to the 6th class children about the Foundation and how their money would benefit children with life threatening illnesses. Everyone was moved by this fantastic foundation and what it achieves for children.
The children spent a number of weeks creating their products, advertising and creating awareness. On the 6th of June the Halla in Scoil Oilibhéir became a hub of selling and all children in the school had the opportunity to purchase the creative products. They children sold personalised bookmarks, door hangers, bracelets and seed/flower bombs.
Congratulations to all involved.
