This week is Active Week in Scoil Oilibhéir. The key message of the week is to instill a culture amongst our pupils which appreciates the importance and benefits of being active.
There are some fun activities taking place around the school to reinforce the message that not only is physical activity good for you but it is also very enjoyable. Each class is taking part in A Mile a Day Challenge and an obstacle course has also been set up for the week. There is also an opportunity for each class to access our schools new basketball hoops .
On Tuesday, junior infants to 2nd class were treated to The Mama Mia Concert. This was an amazing performance by 3rd class, who sang and danced their way through Abbas’s top hits Money, Money, Money, Dancing Queen, Thank You For the Music and Mamia Mia. All classes really enjoyed the concert, especially when they got to join in and get moving for the last song.
But Active Week doesn’t stop there. Still to come is tomorrows Sports For All Day, The Ceillí sa Chlós on Thursday and Bike to School Day on Friday. Keep your eyes peeled for more photos of these fun events.
