Be A SuPAWhero

This October, Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland are running the ‘Be a SuPAWhero’ fundraising campaign to raise €500,000 to provide families with Autism Assistance dogs.

To play our part in helping this fundraising campaign, Scoil Oilibhéir will hold a ‘Be A SuPAWhero’ non-uniform day on Friday 22nd October.

Students in Junior and Senior Infants are invited to come to school in their Halloween Costumes. Students from 1st class to 6th class can come to school dressed as their favourite superhero or in their own clothes.

We are asking for a small contribution (€2) from each child.

It takes 18-24 months to train, assess, qualify, match, and place an autism assistance dog with a child. Puppies enter the AADI training programme no later than 8 weeks of age and undergo rigorous socialisation, training, and assessments throughout their journey to become a life changing support for a family. The training programme is supported by volunteer puppy fosterers, a skilled puppy training supervisor and qualified assistance dog instructors.
