Well, it was back to school with gusto this week after the Easter break and we are looking forward to a very busy term ahead.
Our sixth classes are making final preparations for their ‘big day’ on April 23rd when they will receive the sacrament of Confirmation. It is an exciting time for these boys and girls and they are working hard with their teachers to ensure that everything runs smoothly on the day.
We will have a very exciting day on Friday next, April 20th when our school library, Tír na Sí, will be officially opened. What a marvelous facility this is for the school – the children have the opportunity to choose from hundreds of books and to relax and read in comfort. Well done to all involved in the organisation of Tír na Sí….we know that it will bring pleasure to all of our children for years to come.
Our hurling and camogie teams can be seen training every day in preparation for upcoming matches. We look forward to hearing some news of the competitions ahead. Our athletics team is also in training and looking forward to competing in the City Sports this term.
We have Sports for All day to look forward to and Art Oilibhéir will also be held during this term. Many classes will be going on Walking Tours and School Tours and we all hope to get out and about as the weather improves. All in all there is much to look forward to and we will keep you appraised of all events as they occur.
