Last year in 4th class, they knitted squares which Mrs. Quinlan crocheted together to make blankets for the wonderful charity “Cork Cancer Care/ The Blankets of Hope Cork”. A mock General Election was held in 5th and 6th class today. Each student was given a ballet card to cast a vote. Quotas were worked out and several counts and tallies were taken in what lead to be a great insight into the voting process for the future generation of voters .
The children in 1st class – Ms Daly & Mrs Gleeson – have been busy exploring the best conditions to grow cress seeds in. The young scientists discovered that cress seeds love to grow in damp, warm conditions and absolutely love a bed of cotton pads.
