Good Bye Mrs Mc Sweeney!

It was a bitter sweet ending to the school year this week, as Scoil Oilibhéir waved good bye to the wonderful Mrs. Mc Sweeney. Mrs. Mc Sweeney has taught in our school for 36 years, having joined the staff of our school straight from college in 1985.

Since then Mrs Mc Sweeney has dedicated her whole teaching career to the children of the Blackpool, Dublin Hill and Ballyvolane areas and their families. Liz has been an outstanding teacher and colleague who has contributed richly to the tapestry of our school. She leaves an amazing legacy behind her.

However, perhaps Mrs Mc Sweeney’s greatest legacy will be the role she played in the establishment of An Droichead in our school. Liz was the first teacher to work in An Droichead and she was also instrumental in developing this class in our school and thereby in meeting the needs of pupils with Autism in our community.

We would like to wish her a happy and well deserved retirement and wish her every happiness with the next chapter in her life!!!

Go n-éirí an bóthar leat a mhuinteoir!!
