Student Council

Who are the Student Council

One of the ways we help our children to blossom in Scoil Oilibhéir is to develop their leadership skills and respect their opinions.

Our Student Council is made up of 2 pupils from each of our fifth and sixth classes. They were elected by their classmates to serve for 2023-2024.

The Council members are the voice of the pupils of Scoil Oilibhéir. They hold regular meetings to discuss life in our school and bring ideas and suggestions on how to make it a better place.

The Council perform special duties and welcome visitors to our school.

Their first duty this year was to form a guard of honour for our Lord Mayor, Councillor Kieran McCarthy.

They help out on occasions such as Open Night, Book Fair, Art Oilibhéir and the visit of our new Junior Infants in May.

The Council also holds an annual fundraiser and the money raised in the past has been used to buy additional resources for our school and garden.

The Student council are excellent role models for our younger students and make a valuable contribution to life in Scoil Oilibheir.
